Since he was a young child, John Alexander endured attacks from a dark entity, a shadow, not knowing why it tormented him. However, upon his eighteenth birthday, the torment suddenly stopped and the shadow receded, leaving nothing but haunting memories. For the first time in his life, John was able to enjoy nights of uninterrupted slumber and the shadow that had plagued him was all but forgotten. Then in John's senior year of college, the darkness betrayed him when it breathed life into the shadow once more. Once again, John was stalked in the night with a fury and violence he had never encountered before. However, this time the shadow fixated not only on John, but also on those around him, sending them all scrambling for answers. In their attempt to make a final stand, the truth John had longingly searched for in his youth was found, and a dark destiny was revealed.
