I believe that Artists are in some way Historians - that their work saves something from becoming forgotten. And, artists more than just create art-they are also a product of it -it's a way they filter things, their experiences, thoughts, actions, that show up everyday, exposed in the art they create. Why only Southern California? First because it's my native home and - second, I choose to have my books document the lively, varied, not only the locals, but those from all over the world who come to live here for more than the sun, waves, and entertainment ... but for the opportunity to be a part of a thriving uniquely different way of living, art-making...and the diversity of it all - one hell of a vibration.
