Canton honors a 200-year-old town nestled snuggly between the St. Lawrence River and the Adirondack foothills. With historical photographs, it illustrates Canton's glorious past, which began with New York State's purchase of the northern regions from the Iroquois, the establishment of the 10 original townships, and the incorporation of the town of Canton in 1805.
