Bitter Pill takes a detailed insight into a typical Zambian shanty Compound lifestyle. The story follows the life of Kankhunda a Zambian vibrant young man who graduates from high school with poor grades. He struggles against alcoholism and heavy smoking as he hunts for a job. He eventually loses both parents leaving him with a heavy burden of fending for himself and his two siblings in the midst of a relentless lifestyle of Kalikiliki shanty compound.
