The year is 2029. Andy Whitney, professor of Physics at the University of California, Santa Barbara is working on an experiment transmitting thought from one person to another, groundbreaking technology, to be sure. But when an unexpected parameter is introduced into the experiment and a black elliptic suddenly appears in the lab, Andy's world is turned upside down. It's not long before a number of powerful government organizations learn of his discovery and race to appropriate the technology. Andy must find the source of the elliptic, what it is, and how to control it before it falls into the wrong hands.
