These Mountains... My Home Neil Potter

"A collection of stories from my life growing up in the Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Kentucky." I wanted to put on paper the way of life and the good times that I remember first hand while growing up in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky in the 1940's through the first part of the 1960's. My stories reflect the simple life growing up in the mountains in good times and bad times. It was a culture unlike growing up in the cities outside the mountains. We were often called "hillbilies" labeling us as inferior to what others perceived us as. However, we often saw ourselves as mountain people and were very proud of it.
