What do you get when you combine a humor writer with an elementary school? You get fairy tale gold, that's what. Author Marc Schmatjen visited each one of the Leataata Floyd Elementary classes over the course of the school year to cook up collaborative fairy tales. The literary recipe was simple: Start with a "Once upon a time," stir in twenty-five or so wild and incredible imaginations, add a pinch of structure and direction, and marinate for thirty minutes in the classroom.
