Steven loves machines. When he finds himself in a digital world of precise programming he sets out on a quest to discover the Magic that makes it all possible. In discovering the truth behind the Magic he also uncovers much more... In this Minecraft inspired story, young readers can identify with the excitement of the creative powers of the digital world. But they also can relate to a character more comfortable at times with things he can control than the world outside. The Story encourages creativity, discovery, inquiry, critical thinking, acknowledgement of pride and vice, and inspires beyond self-interest. From the Author: When my sons dug into the world of Minecraft they were quickly enthralled with the creative potential of the platform. But when this extended to the infant genre of Minecraft literature, I was disappointed in the stories that were available, both in scope and in quality. In order to meld their loves for the world of Minecraft and good stories, this is an attempt to infuse not just the obvious references to classical literature and modern adventure but a little depth of character that reflects the values and critical thinking we strive to instill in our children. Further, it is an effort to enjoy the adventures of the creative world of Minecraft with solid grammatical structure in the tradition of respectable literature. If I have missed an oxford comma, ended a sentence with a preposition, or misplaced a metaphor, please forgive the oversight and use the opportunity to teach your child a good writing lesson.
