When I was employed full-time as a graduate engineer, I saw many people come and go with the company. I worked there for 2 years, straight of university before I bit the bullet and decided to plunge into entrepreneurship. While working there, I'd notice a bunch of different personalties, how they worked and the trending strengths and weakness of each personality type. Of course there are many variables in peoples character that will ultimately determine the success/failure of a person but if certain people could just get their head together and get in the right mind set, they can definitely make it work. Accountants are one of them. I remember when my department manager was leaving his position and he was looking for someone to replace him. As it was an engineering firm, heavy in construction activities, I assumed they'd be looking for someone with a bug construction background. I was shocked to find out they were looking for someone who had a strong accounting background. Now, 2-3 years into my Internet Marketing Journey and over 150k spent on advertising, I understand why. I understand why, no matter what the activities of your business are, the most important questions is, "Are You Making Money?", and to be able to put all the details away and look at just the numbers, is a skill set not many are trained to do.
