Finding herself an "undesireable" of Earth, Lili struggles with other newly made Martians to find her place on the cold, oddly beautiful red planet. Beneath the bare earth of the planet, with the help of others she discovers something that has been waiting for millennia to be re-discovered. Between starting a new way of life and staying out of the way of the scientists in control of the growing population, Lili is taxed to the limit to find a way to save the new people of Mars - the Daemons of Mars.
