Robert "Malik" Brooks is at his core a survivor. In his Innovative first novel "Psychology of a Thug" he explores trauma and consuming poverty and it's path to crime, violence, and addiction. He recounts the agonizing trauma of surviving molestation, child abuse, violence and addiction throughout his life. He experienced trauma first in childhood and continued his Indoctrination in the streets and penitentiaries of New Jersey. Malik currently serves his community by working in the field of behavioral health as a Mental Health Peer Advocate for Catholic Charities Diocese of Trenton's Early Intervention Support Services (EISS).
