This Happy Butterfly is a rather irreverent recount of Lynda's journey into and out of the Valley of depression as a teenager. Her experience with a curious school sanctioned addiction, hearing voices, or more specifically a voice, also paints a tongue in cheek picture of the proverbial cracks in many societies' systems through which young people with depression often fall. When you are done smiling in recognition at some of the character's responses, especially Lynda's mother, you too may find yourself looking a little more closely at the seemingly well adjusted bookworm types around you.
