Awakened Debbie Stokoe

Awakened is one woman's personal account of her battle with depression caused by stressful careers and perfectionism. Legal and teaching careers led Debbie Stokoe to descend into severe depression, and even attempt suicide. This memoir documents how she overcame severe mental illness through exercise, learning about wellbeing and self-care, discovering self-development and spirituality and becoming self-employed. In the midst of her struggle, she discovered her passions: writing, creativity and spirituality which helped her to recover. Her aim is that her story helps others who struggle with their mental health, and inspires them to find their purpose and true happiness.
