He is a journalist for the newspaper of a university on Florida's Gulf Coast. She is a purveyor of the art of smooth jazz. No one would think they would be good together; however, upon a chance meeting in a club where she's playing, her soulful music entices him. There's only one problem: both of them have addictive vices which have been sticking points in their previous relationships. Can they look past each other's shortcomings to love one another for the works-in-progress they are? Can they overcome their demons to become better, and more attractive individuals to one another?
