Before Her Mother Named Her begins on the morning of 9/11, but it is not a book about that day. This book is a maybe; a what if; that serves to open one's mind to the least likely of silver linings. Written in present day, the reader will get to know two unknown survivors and struggle throughout their story, with the decisions they themselves are struggling with. Shouldn't families be reunited? Shouldn't survival be celebrated and shared with the world? Or not? They might have gone the rest of their lives anonymous and happy. But just when her daughter is about to graduate high school, someone shows up at her door, insisting she isn't her daughter at all and threatening to take them both back in time. Once upon a time, the little girl belonged to someone. Who will she belong to now?
