At age 65, Jenny has to retire from her job as President of a small college in Colorado. Sophie is the widow of a professor who retired from the same school. They have been friendly acquaintances for years. At Jenny's retirement party, they meet again. Sophie suggests a new living arrangement. They join forces and thus begins a new exciting life for both of them. Sophie and Jenny are neither "zany" nor "crazy" - just two women of a certain age who have found a new way to enjoy their lives. They meet and become friends with some unlikely people, all of whom you will find interesting and entertaining! They travel inside the country and throughout Europe, enjoying life along the way. They feel they are growing young together! Jenny is an avid gardener and Sophie loves to cook. Recipes for some of their favorite foods are included in this book. The author likes the definition of crone as a "wise woman of a certain age, with experience of life and the wisdom and willingness to use and share that experience." She considers this book to be crone lit, which is chick lit with more experience of life. Lorraine Theall has lived in Colorado since 1984. In October 2008, she published her first novel, BEGINNINGS. Independent Publisher Online Magazine awarded the book its 2009 Bronze Medal for Best Fiction in the Midwest Region - the IPPY. She is an active member of the Longmont Writers Club and the Longmont Genealogy Society.
