In fact, between craftsmanship and blinding sorrows this collection is pointillism at its best. The poems are smart, politically attuned, and equally "felt." Page to page, it's Zorro or Sir Thomas Moore, maybe Mick Jagger in the background--one voice rivering to the sea. I will reread this book; it bears many readings, which is proof of Chamber's expertise, careful intelligence, and his semi-grip on the strength of almost joy.
