While Caupoc and company journey deep into the territory of the formidable Don Hidalgo, Ramon continues to struggle for his life, despite Jean-Michelle's constant care and the imparting of a long-kept secret that will bring positive changes to the Deliverer's vast estate in a much-neglected region. Marisco too faces changes, as does Akele; and Caupoc faces a "mishap" at Hidalgo's hands that could well mean the end for him., As does previous volume Nightingale, StormFlight brings about more changes and answers more questions than the previous volumes in the DOPS series, and introduces characters that will be staples in the South American JaVaReyo series, which takes up where the North America-based DOPS leaves off.
