It's like it's "us" -- all of us kids together -- against the "enemy" -- our teacher. And then it happens... Miss Rogers Stinks is set in 1946, just after World War II, in Fresno, California. Part of the story is true, and part of it is made up, but everything about the way things were in 1946 is true. Learn why Miss Rogers, who must be 100 years old, is still teaching school. Learn why Tina's good friend, Margo Akita, was away for almost 5 years during the war. Learn about things from the 1940s like soda fountains, polio, phonograph records ... and the dreaded cloakroom. Miss Rogers Stinks is multicultural, inter-generational, partly bilingual (English/Spanish).
