Laura had lost everything the night of the devastating fire that took the life of her husband and child. After that she didn't want to go on. Only life doesn't work like that. She had to go on. After finishing her nurses training Laura started working as a private duty nurse. It worked out fine. Usually she had short-term assignments that didn't permit her to get too close to any of her patients. If she didn't get close, she couldn't be hurt again.
