Deep below the war-torn surface, the city of Odyssia is alive and bustling with technology, glittering neon lights, and robots for menial tasks. A life in the Upper City is one of excess, artificiality, and material goods. But below the security checkpoints and the sea of enticing wealth, those deemed unworthy or undesirable by the ruling families are exiled to the rundown Under City where they are left to fend for themselves. Here, the dissenters, the criminals, and the poor are forced to live with meager wages, starvation, and no hope of ever rising above it. Bound to their jobs by their marks, they are little more than slaves to an uncaring government. In the Under City, technology is banned and its possession is punishable by death. Rav Tillman, an Under City computer engineer for CyrinoTech, must do all he can to keep his robot son, Nemo, safe from the Tech Police who would confiscate him and destroy him. When his technology is discovered in his home one night, his world is turned upside-down. With his only son stolen away from him and shipped off to one of eight colonies across the distant galaxies, Rav must band together with his friends to hunt down his son before it is too late.
