Global poverty is one of the greatest moral challenges of our time, contrasting with the economic growth and profit made by transnational corporations around the world in the last two decades. To address the issue of global poverty, different strategies have been proposed. Among these proposed strategies, foreign direct investments, which represent a significant portion of multinational enterprises export capital abroad, is presented as a financing method that could contribute to the reduction of poverty. Nonetheless, the impacts of foreign direct investments on growth and poverty depend on many factors. In this book, Eric Mulumba Zozo exposes mechanisms that link transnational corporations and poverty reduction. Moreover, the author proposes strategies that would enhance the contribution of international corporations on poverty reduction in developing countries.
