I have heard that man's quest is the search of illumination or enlightenment. Always fascinated to hear other people's definition of the concept and their perception of the experience, as when you hear another's truth, it often times can reveal your own truth. For me, illumination is finding your way home; discovering the path that leads to your true, authentic self. While on this path of illumination or really authentic self-discover, you must also discover balance. Balance not only in the physical world, but balance in the spiritual realms. As this journey down the path of illumination unfolds it is easy to sabotage yourself. The moment you become off center, whether that is within your own emotions, your own attitudes, or physically, fear, doubt, insecurity, or emotion can take over.
