Farseers have extraordinarily long life expectancies, but even they could not have bridged the million years it took the race of man to evolve without the cryo-sleep technology of Farsight. Earth was not the only planet that evolved over time, Farsight and its inhabitants also faced its challenges and each new awakening presented the crew with problems and opportunities to confront or take advantage of. Love, fear, betrayal, suspicion, and hope are not human emotions only. Bretad, Sidana, and Juvik face these, and encounter death and life with the equanimity that can inspire us all.
