With them, he experiences history., including the capture of Fort Ticonderoga and the battle of Hubbardton. Also caught up by the power of the hemlock, Gerry's Classmate Carla joins him in exploring the Republic of Vermont as it finally overcomes its many foes in its fight to become the 14th state of the United States.
