It begins with words students already know (pasta, pizza, padre, madre) and proceeds slowly, easily, into deeper concepts like gender and conjugation. Ed Caffrey has found other beginner texts unnecessarily complex. This truly does make learning Italian easier. The hardy soul may try this text on his or her own, without a teacher. It is feasible, but not as easy.
