Publisher Marketing: As far as Sarah Whitby is concerned, she has the perfect life working as an executive for one of the top advertising agencies in the country. So perfect, in fact, that when the invitation to attend her high school reunion arrives in the mail, Sarah's first impulse is to ignore it - memories of the nickname "Spooky Sarah" still as fresh in her mind as if it were yesterday. When a work project renders Sarah temporarily unemployed, she reluctantly agrees to attend, much to the delight of Aunt Grace her only living relative. Sarah arrives home to a fragile aunt and feelings of guilt, along with a desire to reconnect with an important person in her past, childhood playmate, Barbara. Although it was Barbara who helped Sarah through the trauma of losing a mother at an early age, Sarah's reliance on Barbara lessened as time passes. After a bitter argument and soon after graduation and the death of her father, Sarah left the small hometown of Formosa, with a vow never to return. Sarah decides to use the reunion as an opportunity to perhaps rekindle the friendship she and Barbara once shared. In addition, Sarah acknowledges a secret desire to see her high school crush, Jonathan, now Doctor, Winthrop. Old friendships, curious neighbours, as well as remembrances of tragedy past, all serve to give Sarah the homecoming she will not soon forget.
