This book covers ships' lists, a chronology from 1744 of documented events in his life in Tulpehocken and the Lykens Valley, land grants, the Upper Paxton Associators with all names (including Peter's sons) in the Revolutionary War in New Jersey and New York, the complete militia list for the area, Peter's war experience as Wiconisco collector of the Continental tax including his tax roll, the formation of Hoffman's Church, clergy serving the church and as community teachers, Peter's land and his will, and Peter's children, their spouses, and Peter's grandchildren. This is a concise biography of Peter Hoffman and a history of his time and place. His descendants' annual reunion is the first Sunday in August at the Hoffman's Church picnic grove.
