"Challenges of Life" is a compilation of poems that is intended to generate humor and to give moral uplifting to the mind. Although the poems are considered to be a work of fiction, the overall tone of the work and the writing style may have a nonfiction view of life in general. These poems depict life as the author sees it while growing up in Bedford-Stuyvesant and now relocated to Red Hook New York. As she struggles through different obstacles in her relationships, the reader cannot help but feel Sheena's pain and strength as they browse throughout the pages of the book because her writing will truly have the reader hanging onto her every word as her realism comes face to face with everyday life.
