America is Not for Americans Only Mr Ramkumar Natarajan

Publisher Marketing: Every man on earth has a claim on America. How and why? Is it because of the ethnic composition of America or because of America policing the world or because of the flawed policies that made people of other nations suffer? The technological raw material - the educated professional be he or she an engineer, a scientist or a doctor- or professors or even the raw manual laborer- is not entirely scooped up from America but imported from other nations without whom Americas edge would be lost. America as is USA popularly known is a dreamland for a sizeable population of the planet earth. The acronym USA can also rightly mean Universal States of America. People who have no means to go to America dream of it. It is etched in the minds of people that it is a land of 'el dorado' where everything is in abundance. In the past people flocked to go to America to breathe life and freedom. Now too people seek to go there to earn their bread and to realize their dreams. No doubt in the future also citizens of other nations will dare to relinquish their citizenship to become an American. A nation built from scratch by immigrants is open to new immigrants to become part of a 'melting pot' or 'salad bowl'. America keeps its edge in science, technology and world-politics by admitting immigrants from nations that are even inimical to it. It is home to a generation of populations who were or are rooted elsewhere. These populations make what America is today. Of late there is a discussion going on whether America will weather the storms created by economic downslide and China. It can, only if the legacy is observed uninterrupted. It is the legacy of selective immigration.
