The punishment for the world?s sins is the creation of vampires. The Dark Angels were allowed to create the First Ones, who in turn, created the entire vampire race. There is a group that is responsible for maintaining balance so that mankind does not get eaten out of existence. That balance has been threatened. Thereticus is looking for love while he can because he fears that the vampires? existence is limited. He meets a little girl named Arianna and comes to adore her, but he learns things about her that is far beyond anything he has ever seen or heard. Who or what is she? The "First Ones" tale puts a new twist on vampire folklore.
