Interview I will not have the joy of write an introduction for this book. Author Hattie B. Benson interview will serve as the preface to introduce Miss Hattie to you her new readers, this interview will segue into her new story (The Cabin) as should be the case. In the back of the book, you can continue to read the interview I am privilege to conduct with Author Hattie B. Benson before she started her third book and after the book was finished. 1. Yahya S. Id-Deen (Q): You published your first book after your mother's death and long after your father passed away. My question is if your mother could have live to read your first book what special words would you have said to her. (A): Hattie B. Benson I would have told her thanks for all of the sacrifices that she did through out all of our lives. In the worst of times, you always found a way to smile. Your smile was reassuring to us that all would be ok. I would say you are the strongest woman I knew then and now. I am reminded that she was the kind of person; that were it rain or shine, well or sick she never said a word to give us doubt that she would quit taking care of us. Above all I'm so proud that you are my mother and my mentor and I'm over joyously proud to say I am your daughter I would have liked for her to know I thank her for not quitting on us. When there were times, you had to be the woman and the man. I thank you. Hattie B. Benson thanks you.
