Man on the Street is the story of Manny Crocker, a violent, small time drug dealer in Philadelphia. Manny faces a dilemma: He has to beat up his childhood best friend, Ralph, over a gambling debt, but before he can do that, he must stage an early morning robbery at his childhood home in Camden, N. J. His father stole his loaded .45 caliber handgun, and Manny needs it back; all in a good days work. Along the way to get Ralph, Manny and his current best friend, John, spend an increasing amount of time loitering around a local college campus. After a couple of weeks, John decides to enroll in a class; he takes Psychology 101. As the pursuit of Ralph heats up, Manny and John have several pointed conversations using the high-end psychological theories John has learned to help explain some of the low-end behavior they observe in the junkies and prostitutes around them every day. Man on the Street is an epic tale about a simple fist fight, but it is also a philosophical essay on the ethics of drug dealing and the downward spiral resulting from the vices that marinate modern American life. Melissa J is a crossdresser, stand-up comedian, and amateur philosopher in California.
