Why I write I write to let my heart speak. I write to be heard. I write to be seen. I write when I'm happy. I write when I'm sad. I write when my friends have a problem. I write when I have a good pen. I write to fill up blank paper. I write when there is nothing on TV. I write when my emotions are out of whack. I write when I can't speak. I write when my word don't come out right. I write to understand what went wrong. I write to capture moments that made me smile. I write to live . . . I've written a poem because of a word I've heard in everyday conversation. I've written a poem because of the way a song made me feel. I've written a poem based on something a friend of mine was going through. I've written a poem about the man that broke my heart, the man that I loved and/or the man that I want to get to know. All of my poems are about someone, something I felt, something I heard, or something I saw.
