We all go through difficult times, some of us more than others. Our response to those times makes all the difference in a world filled with other people who are struggling to through their difficult times with the least amount of heartache. As Christians, though, Jesus taught us that we shouldn't live for ourselves; that we should find our peace in our relationship with Him and allow Him to help us through those times. But our culture teaches us to look out for "Number One" and to find a way to be comfortable at any cost. Our discomfort in situations of life, cause us to ask and even beg God to help us get past it as quickly as possible. But God would have us to let Him use our situation to bring glory to His Name; to teach us how to wait on Him while we're in that valley of life. Of course our flesh repels the idea of discomfort and waiting. But it's not all about me! And it's not all about you; it's about the Kingdom of God. Since Jesus paid such a precious price for our redemption, He may allow us to go through great discomfort if that valley in life may possibly teach us something that we could only learn there; something that will enable us and others to benefit from the lessons we learned in a difficult place. In this 30-day devotional, you will find the lessons that God is teaching me as I personally walk through my own valley. I'm finding out that in my own uncomfortable places, as I submit myself to God and to His Plan, I am learning His Ways and experiencing His Presence in a peculiar place, the valley.
