Ca. Sister Mary Winifred

Come, Holy Spirit Ca. Sister Mary Winifred

In many religious communities, the days between Ascension and Pentecost are traditionally a time for special contemplation on the Holy Spirit. In this devotional, Sister Mary Winifred offers nine days of structured prayer, meditations, scripture readings, and questions for self-reflection. These devotions may be used at any time, as one senses the need for the seven gifts of the Spirit: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, godliness, and fear of the Lord, as well as love of heavenly things and the conscious indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Those who grow in these gifts may then manifest the "fruits" of the Spirit, mentioned in St. Paul's letter to the Galations: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. A delightful, simple guide that draws on ancient prayers, hymns, and traditions.
