Diabetes is not just a word to 12 year old Jack. It has changed the way he lives his life. Jack has learned not to just cope with a disease but he has learned he can live his life the way he wants while successfully treating his diabetes. This book was inspired by a young man I met who was just becoming acclimated to his insulin pump and diabetes. I gathered from our conversation that he was shocked to discover kids could have diabetes. In addition it appeared that his peers were equally uninformed about diabetes and the variety of treatments available. This book?s goal is to help elementary age children better understand diabetes and its treatment.
