It?s the summer of ?94. A year since the trauma, ten year old Aaron is still healing from his father?s suicide. When Mary sends her son, Scottie, who is battling kidney disease, to Byrd Spring to help him with his drinking problem, she hopes that he will also help Aaron and his mother with their grief.
