Publisher Marketing: What would you do if you showed up for a job interview and your prospective employer claimed to be Satan? He wanted to dispute many aspects of the bible and have me write his Gospel. Three of his assertions were that he is Yahweh's twin brother, there many inaccurate statements in the bible, and Jesus is not divine. He asserts that it was he who paved the way for Saint Peter to found the Roman Catholic Church. It becomes clear that Satan's objective is to launch an all out assault on the Christian church and take a shot at Islam in the process. The Gospel According to Satan is clearly a part of his scheme, but his precise expectations are not clear. Is he trying to promote the unpardonable sin? Is his Gospel a ruse to cover the introduction of the antichrist? The most important issue for me is how do I ecape from my relationship with my soul intact? I am a writer and a nominal Christian. I had fallen into my own great economic depression. Eviction from my apartment and the ultimate humiliation of returning home as a failure were on the horizon and closing fast. The interview involved the ride of my life and a flurry of questions regarding my knowledge about religion, the bible, Yahweh, and his Son. I rolled the dice and took the job. As a result of my employment I met seven Satan lovers whose singular goal was to diminish his influence on earth and a beautiful 2000 year old African woman who became the mother of my son.
