PIANO-FORTE or PIANO narrates his life experiences living with two mistresses ? first the child Melinda, later the woman Andrea. As he becomes part of their lives both musically and personally, he wonders about his purpose in life. Unlike ordinary pianos he possesses the ability to think and feel. These capacities make him question the meaning of life. Through the lives of Melinda and Andrea, he attempts to answer the questions of who and what he is and more importantly why he is.
