Publisher Marketing: SHINING STARS is a non-profit organization which uses horses to help individuals with physical and mental limitations. THERAPEUTIC RIDING MINISTRIES is a network of volunteers who devote their time and effort in helping individuals with disabilities to--but not limited to: develop mobility, balance, and coordination; improve muscle tone and strength; offer challenging activities which help to build self-confidence as well as self-dependence. Students, parents, and family members are offered Equine courses to give them a better understanding of how horses can help their loved ones struggling with day-to-day activities; and the Ministry volunteers are specially trained in dealing with the horses as well as the students. SHINING STARS also offers weekend classes where the students can interact with teachers, volunteers, and fellow students in a friendly, God-loving environment where family members can rest assure knowing that their loved ones truly are a "SHINING STAR." SHINING STARS is a wonderful program, which is why I, and the illustrator, have opted out of all royalties. All royalties made through the sales of "I AM A SHINING STAR" go directly to the organization to help with funding of future projects which help those with disabilities.
