My story takes place over forty years; the main character in Rosie. At the beginning of the book Rosie has three children and an abusive husband Bert. When the children grow up and leave home, Rosie also leaves, she just walks out one day and does not go back, losing contract with her family. She lives on the streets for a while and ends up running a homeless hotel. Her three children all lead very different lives. Jill marries Tom, her childhood sweetheart, has three children and becomes writer. David goes to London and works for an engineering firm where he meets his girl friend Jane who is a social worker. Carla the youngest and the wildest of the family ran off with a boyfriend to Greece. The book follows the histories of these four characters and their families and the people they meet along the way. A large chunk of the book is set in Greece and the stories of the extended family that Carla becomes a part of there. There is also an insight into the homeless as some of their tragic stories are related to Rosie. My Characters are fictional but many of the stories of the homeless are true and have come from actual events related to me by women living on the streets in London
