Francine O'Malley is a confused seventeen year old trying to survive life with her whacky, devout catholic mother and her gruff but gentle-spirited eighty year old uncle. Finding her father, the handsome hotdog vendor that seduced her mother and then walked away, is paramount in her life. During her senior year in high school, Francine learns some of the hardest lessons that life has to offer. Yet, in spite of these conditions, hope is at the core of the young girl's life.
