Author's Note: Some people call it Mexico's Shangri-La, the villages along Lake Chapala's North shore that have attracted so many expatriates, artists, and writers from our own Dane Chandos to the celebrated Ernest Hemmingway. This series of small Mexican villages has in recent years absorbed an influx of "snow birds" and an increasing population of permanent residents from North of the border without losing it's essential Mexican character. My wife and I have spent several winters in this area of Mexico and the poems and snapshots included in this collection reflect my view of the villages, it's people, it's weather and even it's ubiquitous dogs. I hope you enjoy my view of this personal paradise.
