Colpo Lampo: Lightning Strike John Mushock

Publisher Marketing: Colpo Lampo is the story of an unusual and bizarre friendship between two young professional men. The first, Enzo Bertini, is a retired Sicilian professional assassin employed as a security analyst in Rome, Italy. That is, retired until he is approached by a devious Vatican cardinal who offers him a million dollars to assassinate the newly elected pope. The offer is a stroke of good fortune for Enzo. It enables him to begin the pursuit of his longtime goal of opening a chain of martial arts studios throughout the world. He decides to kill two birds with one stone by opening his first studio in Manhattan, the location where the assassination is to take place. It is at this point that that our second protagonist, Dominick Davis, a former marine, enters the scene. He is a CPA employed by a medium size accounting firm that assigns him the task of setting up an accounting system for Enzo's studio. Working together and learning that they have a similar passion for the martial arts, Enzo and Dominick soon become close friends. As the friendship grows, coincidentally, they both become aware that they are being betrayed by their respective benefactors. Enzo, through connections at the Vatican, learns that the cardinal has instructed his henchmen to ambush and kill him as he is assassinating the pope. Meanwhile, Dominick learns that his management has set him up as the fall guy for improprieties committed by his firm, namely the falsification of client financial statements. Working together, they help each other deal with the betrayals. Little do they know, however, that their efforts will lead them to an even bigger challenge, namely the prevention of an evil plot to destroy the Catholic Church through nuclear devastation and destruction.
