Dan Hale had it all: a beautiful wife, a brand new two story home in the middle-class community of West Des Moines, Iowa.

But when Dan lost his job, he found out that his wife was unfaithful and cunning. She was responsible for paying the bills, but hadn't done it for months. She took that money and ran away with another man.

Losing everything and having nowhere to go was the least of Dan's worries. Winter in Iowa can be very harsh without shelter, clothes, and, most of all, food.

Within days Dan lost everything that he had and loved. Dan finds himself alone and uncertain once again. What to do and how to do it would be an adventure that may be the death of him.
