Johnson had, for a time, battled his own demons and mental illness until his spiritual reawakening and rekindled love and devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ whose Second Coming he awaits in the last days of this world. The verses and lines of his poems spoke of his personal experiences and observations of a world gone wayward, influenced by Satan, continually turning away from God s love.
