Throughout, history some self-experiences and ideologies have changed the world. They have transformed the way we see ourselves--and each other. The have inspired debate, dissent, war, and revolution. They have enlightened, outraged, provoked, and comforted. They have enriched lives--and destroyed them. Living in Dubai, in the Emirate that has created a big exclamation mark in the contemporary history, is one of those eccentric experiences that they shook civilization and helped to make many people show they are, especially me. Maybe my story will jeopardize what is left of my life. But in this memoir I tried only to investigate the human progress, civilization and morality in this gorgeous Emirate, trying not to hurt anyone's feelings. And if I did, I would like to apologize to everyone. Those events have passed and nothing more can be done about them, yet they still haunt me. Now is an ideal time for me to start shedding negative baggage from the past. My future is bright and there is no reason for me to allow the past to taint it. Therefore I must have the freedom and courage to use my own intellect and express my own ideas without fear.
