Katlyn and Jody is a story that shows the commitment and relationship that can develop between a child and her pet. It shows a sense of responsibility and the willingness to change if need be. Katlyn, even as a young child, is directed by her parents in the ways of caring for her own pet. She is diligent however there is this one time that she does not listen to her parents and it nearly costs her the life of Jody as well as herself. This underlines the desire to do what we want to do and not what is best. In conclusion, life has its own ways of teaching us lessons that we all need to learn.
