Can you "honor" your father if you've never seen him? Can you "honor" your father if you've never heard him? Can you "honor" your father if you don't know him as the person he is? Not as an unknown father figure, but him? What does "honor" mean? It doesn't say obey, trust, mind, love, visit, or respect. It says "honor." What does "honor" mean? The dictionary definition is ... respect. In 1996, I discovered I had a dad. I was thirty-six years old. I never had a father to honor. I never knew him. I never heard him. I never saw him. How could I honor this stranger?
